key information
The proposal is based on a public vision document from 2009 that is sorely outdated and does not represent our community’s desires and needs.
The plan is not consistent with the Town’s declaration of a climate emergency and does not lay out any green buildings or thoughtfulness around the current environmental crisis.
The original 2009 Public Vision, on which this is supposedly based, calls for 70% of the property to be left wild. This is not the current plan.
The project would potentially tap into to the tune of over 800,000 gallons per day and displace certain endangered species.
The recently revised view of the development on the project website is not reflected in the actual documents that have been submitted. Nowhere on the site plan or other documents is there a reference to the promised "affordable housing," and the promised "preservation" of 400 acres does not appear on the master site plan.
The updated WF website now promises "leaving 400 acres – half the property - in its natural state as a tribute to the land’s history and character. This approach is at the heart of the project’s vision." But, again, the master site plan doesn't reflect this worthy vision and it is not reflected in the docs submitted to the town.
